Exploring the Savannah Way

October 27, 2014February 5, 2017 / Jane / Leave a comment

I had two days off work. We decided to go exploring. Further west, along the Savannah Way, the familiar stretch of outback before us... Stopping at Croydon, then onto Normanton, we were welcomed by a purple painted pub! Well if it's purple, you kind of have to have a drink in it ;-). After a … Continue reading Exploring the Savannah Way

Venturing onto Outback Queensland

October 12, 2014October 12, 2014 / Jane / Leave a comment

We drive west. Past mountains, round valleys, we find windmills and cows and funny looking fruit trees. From green to brown to dust to outback Queensland, it's a really weird feeling to describe how the outback makes you feel... I like it. A lot. Free and expansive, away from the hustle and bustle, the noise … Continue reading Venturing onto Outback Queensland

Cairns and Tropical Queensland

September 24, 2014December 14, 2015 / Jane / 1 Comment

A feeling of being completely lost and that you're not meant to be there... Unable to identify with the general, random, day … Continue reading Reflections on a Month Gone By

Next Stop: Darwin

July 31, 2014July 31, 2014 / Jane / Leave a comment

This is the car that needed relocating from Broome to Darwin for only $5 a day... Not too shabby a ride is it?! Complete with tent, sleeping bags, cooking gear and a handy little fridge, it was ready to go on a roadtrip ;-). Finding travel companions through a facebook group and on my tour … Continue reading Next Stop: Darwin

Gorge’s, Crocodiles and Caves

July 25, 2014July 27, 2014 / Jane / Leave a comment

Before leaving Broome, after finishing work and before heading off on my road trip, unable to drive the Gibb River Road, I was keen to see some of the Kimberley national park before heading east. As per usual I didn't get much sleep before a tour that I've booked... Not really a morning person as … Continue reading Gorge’s, Crocodiles and Caves
