A fun day had exploring Brisbane

Having spent a week chilling in Forest Lake I was beginning to get itchy feet and wanted to explore. An early start at 5.45 and rode the train into Brisbane. I initially followed the walking tour in the Lonely Planet guide, passing through Anzac Square (stopping to put San tan lotion on at 8am!), Post Office square, St Stephen’s Cathedral, had breakfast in the Market Street Cafe as suggested by the guide, the city Botanic gardens, Goodwill Bridge and South Bank Parklands.

Feeling the heat I then Rode the City Sights tour bus (air con available!) and saw the sights including Roma St Parklands, Mt Coot-tha, Suncorp stadium, Kangaroo Point and Chinatown. Revisited the wheel at South Bank which hadn’t been open when i walked past in the morning, Walked myself silly but enjoyed taking in the feel of the city and quite liked it.
