The Impossible

Unsure of Naomi Watt’s accent at first, by the end of the first 40 mins, the film had drawn me in . Naomi and Tom Holland did an exceptional job of carrying the film to the middle. Brought to tears on more than one occasion, the film told the story powerfully and on occasion had me turning away from the screen in anguish. A scene with Ewan McGregor and a phone was particularly impressive. Though anticipating where the film was going, the suspense build still had me hooked. Very well done and I’m sure a few awards will be won. Waiting until the end credits, expecting the family to be British, I was more than a little surprised to find out the real family was Spanish! Why would they make an American do a British accent if they were Spanish?!
